     Tom, my friend, Lee Iacocca was a self-promoting mental midget.  As for Ken Lay, he wasn’t the center of action.  Jeffery Skilling was, and as such he was way, way smarter than Iacocca, who mostly tended to write knee-slappingly bad prose about himself.  Skilling is a radically different sort – the Useless Genius.  So there you have it – the Idiot and the Genius, both in the end masters of self-promotion.  One so dull-minded he never had an idea enter his head that didn’t die, parched, on the long march to the other side; the other a genius who forgot in the midst of the Darwinian soup that he made his company into that reality exists and that ideas don’t equal cash flow.  It’s hard for me to know what to make of this dichotomy…
